SUMMARY:Pickin' In The Park at Norris Dam State Park
DESCRIPTION:Welcome Fall at this fun local family-friendly event. WBY duo will share Old-Time Appalachian and Gospel tunes with mandolin\, banjo\, guitar and vocals. At beautiful Norris Dam State Park\, it’s a great opportunity to enjoy the beauty of East Tennessee and remember God’s abundant blessings! Other musicians\, as well as local food and craft/ artisan booths\, will add to the festivities. Hours are 5:30-9:30 pm\, and location is Shelter 2\, on the east side of Norris Dam State Park. Bring your own chairs (flashlights helpful too). Parking is available at 1810 Norris Fwy\, Norris\, TN 37828. Hayrides will be available to take participants to shelter 2 from the parking lot. Accessible parking is available at the Tea Room. There is no entry fee\, but donations are strongly encouraged.

DESCRIPTION:WBY duo is excited to share Appalachian roots music at this Fall festival for the first time! Come hear banjo\, mandolin\, guitar and harmony vocals ring out Old-Time\, ‘grassy and mountain Gospel tunes. The fest\, which runs from 10am-5pm\, celebrates Southwest Virginia’s unique cultural heritage and features handmade Appalachian crafts available for purchase on the Karlan Mansion lawn. Demonstrators showcase their time-honored skills; various musicians play through the day; and children can enjoy fun and educational activities\, all with an Appalachian theme. Concessions will be available. More info to be announced. Admission is $10 per vehicle with no limit on number in vehicle.

Fiddle\, cello\, mandolin\, banjo\, guitar and vocals blend like apple pie spices on Old-time\, Gospel and ‘grassy tunes. Festival also features a pumpkin carving contest\, local food trucks\, blacksmithing\, a bounce house for the kids\, Michigan apples and music all day. Hours are 9am-5pm. Wild Blue Yonder performs from 1:15-2pm.

Catch WBY on the ORNL Gazebo stage for two sets\, starting at 2:45. Fest runs October 25-27\, 2024 and honors the rich traditions of the past and supports modern interpretations of those traditions. More than just a fine art and craft show\, visitors to the family-friendly event enjoy two stages of mountain music\, storytelling\, prize-winning dancers\, regional authors\, children’s activities\, and abundant good food. Also enjoy live demonstrations of traditional crafts like blacksmithing\, basket making\, wood turning and more. Preview Party on Friday evening (10/25) features live entertainment\, food\, and advance purchase of juried crafts.
